Storm Sewer Relief Trunkline | Lake Mills, Iowa

WHKS provided engineering, survey, and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis for the construction of a storm sewer trunkline to relieve the existing system in the City of Lake Mills, Iowa.

A minimally developed stormwater collection system and undersized outlet pipes were resulting in flooding within the City from moderate rainfall events. WHKS examined the City’s existing collection system and evaluated the existing capacity in relation to various storm events. Based on the evaluation, the trunkline was designed to include two parallel 48-inch diameter pipelines at minimum grade.
